Path of Empathy Devlog #2
Hello everyone, Axolatte back
I made and launched p13 in school, which is just some bug fixing and minor changes and additions to the combat system. However I didn't do much since I only had 30 minutes
And I just launched p14.
p14 almost completes the combat system, but i'm not very fond of it because I don't know how to make loops, so if you type in something invalid, you have to restart EVERYTHING. It really sucks
I don't (didn't) have time to playtest it and see if any errors appear. So imma check on that tomorrow before making p15 and completing the combat system
Another thing to note is that I feel like the combat system is hardcoded, sure this is still the "Dummy" stage, so there shouldn't be RNG, but idk what i'm gonna do with REAL enemies. Sure I 'can' make them have random health, atk and def, it's really easy actually, but I have to write lots and lots of code for each enemy, and i'm not sure putting the combat part / system (if you get what I mean) in a function will work.
Initially this project was gonna be made all by myself (and one of my friends will handle the music, if I can even implement it without PyGame). But my friend is also good at python, and even better than me, so I might consider him helping in the project (aside music), he also knows how to implement permanent loops which is amazing
That's it I guess, imma update everyone tomorrow
And for everyone wondering about the Scratch game, well, I need my other friend to finish making a costume for one of the objects (cause he's the lead game designer, since everyone else in the team, especially me, sucks at game design)
